Uranium and copper-gold · South Australia

Overlooked ground in Australia’s uranium state.

Two granted exploration licences at Mulpula and one application at Gason in South Australia’s far north-east: more than 100 km of interpreted roll-front uranium trend, and a gravity anomaly targeted for the copper-gold-uranium deposit style of Olympic Dam. The target areas have never been explored for uranium.

The opportunity

Two target styles in one overlooked district.

The project areas sit over the Birdsville Ridge, a buried basement structure beneath the Eromanga Basin that extends the crustal-scale deformation corridor along which South Australia’s uranium deposits lie.

Decades of petroleum exploration and government surveys have left seismic, gravity, magnetic and radiometric data over the district. Fission Ridge has re-read that data for uranium and copper-gold, and found targets that have never been tested.

Gason Project

Mulka area, about 170 km north-east of Marree

A discrete gravity anomaly about 15 km across, beneath basin cover and untested. Its footprint is about a third larger than Olympic Dam’s own gravity response, and it is targeted for iron oxide copper-gold and uranium.

Why South Australia

The only Australian state producing uranium.

About a third
of the world’s reasonably assured uranium resources are in Australia, more than in any other country.
World’s largest
uranium deposit is Olympic Dam, in South Australia. It holds about 80% of Australia’s economic uranium resources.
All three
Australian uranium mines producing in 2024 were in South Australia: Olympic Dam, Four Mile and Honeymoon.
In-situ recovery
Beverley, Four Mile and Honeymoon are sandstone-hosted deposits mined by in-situ recovery, the style Fission Ridge is targeting at Mulpula.
